Noted while watching Game 1 of the doubleheader on Gamecast at "work":
--Guz returns. He's hitting second today behind Emilio! the team would be better suited all the way around with Milledge inthe 2 slot and Guz 7th or 8th, but with Dukes out Milledge needs to be further down in the order. The positive here is that Manny realizes Bonifacio needs to be the lead-off hitter and Guz does not.
--Man, does this team need to find a power-hitting first baseman to put into the clean-up spot. having that one bat would allow other players to slot in a more natural spot in the batting order.
--Extreme bummer about Dukes, but it continues the disturbing pattern of the Nats medical staff taking the player's opinion about their injury at face value instead of immediately doing MRIs to eveluate the injury, leaving the player unavailable to the manager for days until proper diagnosis. Is the team so cheap they are trying to get away with medical opinion without doing MRI until absolutely necessary? I would hope not, but...
