San Diego state junior Stephen Strasburg pitched a complete game no-hitter in his final home game as an amateur pitcher, defeating Air Force Friday night 5-0. He struck out 15 Falcons, including the final three outs in the ninth inning. He walked two in the masterful performance.
Strasburg, 20, finishes his final season 11-0 with a 1.24 ERA with 162 strikeouts in 87.1 innings pitched.
Earlier in the week, Strasburg was awarded the USA Baseball Player of the Year award.
He is, of course, expected to be the number one overall pick in this summer's amateur entry draft.
