THE RESULT: First, apologies. This will be very quick tonight. It's late. I went to the Caps game. I'm bummed, I'm tired and frankly, I didn't watch the game. Though I am watching the replay. And the Nats were lucky to walk out of Chase Field with a win tonight.
Ryan Zimmerman homered (6) to extend his consecutive games with a hit streak to 27, and Adam Dunn hit his ninth of the season, leading the Nats to a 2-1 win over Arizona.
John Lannan got the win. He went six innings, allowing no runs on just three hits, but he walked six and struck out just two.
Some of the bullpen guys did their jobs. Some didn't. It's going to be like this all season long.
THE GOOD: Zimmerman. Way to go Ryan.
THE BAD: Josh Willingham. o-for-4. Hitting .174.
THE UGLY: Kip Wells. Gave up a run on one hit and two walks in the bottom of the ninth. Gave way to Hanrahan for the save.
Honorable Mention to Alex Cintron. Another pinch-hit appearance. Another out. He's now 0-for-15 for the season.
NEXT GAME: Sunday for the finale against Arizona. Scott Olsen (1-3, 6.54) faces Max Scherzer (0-3, 3.38) at 4:10 pm ET.
