Nationals Draftee Robbie Ray Visits With Strasburg During BP

Washington Nationals 12th round draft pick LHP Robbie Ray was introduced to Stephen Strasburg and Jason Marquis on the field at Nationals Park by Roy Clark during batting practice before today’s game.  Ray was the second highest drafted high schooler this season by the Nats.

It was just a last minute “recruiting trip” by the front office to get one of the last unsigned draft picks into the fold, following a workout for the team brass today.

Ray is a high schooler out of Brentwood, TN and has committed to Arkansas for the upcoming season if he does not sign with the Nats.  He threw three perfect games this past season, has a fastball in the 90-92 range with a plus changeup -- when it's on -- according to draft previews.

Nice article and a good look. Will certainly follow the Natsfarm link. What do you think this push suggests about their chances to sign the other picks?
