ABM, that's interesting. sorry it didn't work.
i thought it was interesting though all the open ended questins and room for fill in the blanks. believe me, i was quite specific in some of my comments and responses.
i spoke to a Nats PR person at NatsFest about Clint. apparently, he was just acting as the PR staff told him to. this year, they said, he's be toning down the act to appear more genuine and "involved"--their word, not mine. i guess we shall see.
the Sweet Caroline thing kills me.
ABM, my five words were no where near as gracious as "misunderestimated".
i think my most gracious was disorganized.
Ha- on a similar note my kindest word was "misguided."
I'm curious about those results. I mean, what percentage of fans do you think are Screech's Best Friend types? I'm kind of far removed from the fan base now that I moved out of the area, but most of the Nats' blogs I frequent are really critical/down on the team.
John, folks at NatsFest were decidedly split in two factions: "happy to have a team" and "what's going on here".
i think the majority of the DC fan base is still not thinking critically of the team; that is, it's a diversion, they go to a game or two a year, etc.
there is a section of the fan base that is thinking critically, most bloggers among them. it's part of our responsibility to inspire that critical thought, since the MSM in DC does so little of it.
